What we do

We build resilient communities through gender-responsive interventions.

GSI envisages empowered communities through interventions anchored on five strategic pillars namely Education Promotion, Livelihood Promotion, Health Promotion, Rights and Advocacy, and Civic Engagement and Leadership.

Education Promotion

Failure to complete basic education is a precursor to a myriad of many social problems in the community.

One of the major drivers among adolescent girls is due to teenage pregnancies coupled with ignorance on school re-entry processes and unconducive learning environments for teen moms.

Strategic Objective: To facilitate and support the adolescent girls attain their full potential through access to and completion of the highest levels of education possible.

Livelihood Promotion

Lack of or inadequate skills to identify and manage livelihood opportunities and local resources, diminishing factors of production and employment opportunities are some of the leading causes blindness to existing opportunities among communities.

Strategic Objective: To advance the community capacity to recognize and utilize available resource for resilient livelihoods and well-being

Health Promotion

The interventions under this pillar are designed to promote prevention of diseases and support community members already with various ailments to reverse or minimize the impacts of the morbidities.

Strategic Objective: To promote individual and community health and wellbeing by equipping them with information, knowledge and skills to make decisions on prevention and provision of care to the affected

Rights and Advocacy

In line with numerous international and national statutes declarations, all human beings have inherent rights simply because they are human beings. These rights should be observed, respected, promoted and protected without discrimination.

Strategic Objective: Empower individuals and communities to champion and drive for action and protection against GBV and child rights violation

Civic Engagement and Leadership

Many communities lack platforms to engage with their governments in finding solutions and making decisions that matter to them. This denies them the opportunity to to hold their leaders to account, resulting in systems that do not meet their needs, poor governance and gross misappropriation of their resources.

Strategic Objective: Build the agency of the communities to self-determine and proactively participate in the pursuit of good governance and fight against corruption

GSI Institutional Strengthening

Good governance, strong leadership and sound management structures are crucial in providing credibility and accountability to and with both internal and external stakeholders.

GSI seeks to ensure accountability and effectiveness by promoting the implementation of key organizational policy guidelines and ensuring their compliance.

Strategic Objective: To sustainably refocus and streamline GSI structures, processes and management resources for optimal mission delivery
